Introduction
Dongsam-dong Shell Midden is one of the greatest neolithic sites in Asia and a variety of artifacts including comb-patterned potteries, stoneware, burial jars, shells and fish bones were excavated from this site.
To promote and promote Dongsam-dong Shell Midden as an important historic site, a museum was opened in 2002.
The museum currently exhibits more than 100 artifacts and it will serve as the pivotal site for neolithic studies.
You can also visit Jodo Island nearby which is regarded as one of the Eight Scenic Sites of Yeongdo.
